”Meet the Locals” at EcoWorld Aquarium & Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre - Get Up Close to a Tuatara, New Zealand's living fossil.   Get Up Close to a Penguin*. Have fun discovering amazing animals that live in New Zealand, “the youngest land in the world”.*

EcoWorld’s knowledgeable staff strive to give you an outstanding, up close experience with our animals.  We help you discover and better understand some of New Zealand's amazing native animals that live in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds.

EcoWorld is home to many different fish species from the Marlborough Sounds, as well as ancient Tuatara, the mystical Seahorse and the Little Blue Penguins* as part of EcoWorld's Rehabilitation Centre.  Once recovered we release the penguins, and other species such as the Giant Weta, lizards and Kakariki* into their natural habitat.
